FAQs

  • Is church membership required?

No. We would love for you to join us on a Sunday or Wednesday but if you have a home church that you already love thats wonderful!

  • Is there a fee or tuition charge?

No. We do require all adults to complete a background check for a one time cost of $10. We may also ask for help with supplies from time to time. There is not a tuition or reoccurring charge.

  • Can I drop off my kids?

No. We require parents/guardians to stay with their child.

  • Should I wait to start at the beginning of the month?

No! Please be encouraged to join us any week! We will catch you up.

  • What are the monthly focus classes?

Previous classes have been: Texas History, Geology, Writting, Drama, Music, Etiquette, Formal Dance, Cooking and more.

  • What ages are welcome?

All! We have a space for "littles" to mingle and parents to gather to watch and visit.

  • Are all classes held at the church?

No! We try to take a field trip on the last Thursday of the month that aligns with our focus class (examples: for Geology we travelled to the Rock Museum in Lufkin, for Cooking we toured Blue Bell in Brenham). Families are responsible for their own transportation and entry fees.

  • Can I teach a focus class?

Probably! Please see Lacey or Tatiana to share the class you would like to teach. Plan to have a course outline ready and a thorough knowledge of the subject. We do try to plan for the year in advance but sometimes circumstances are beyond our control and we need to adjust that plan.

  • Why are background checks required?

This is a volunteer ministry. Everyone who attends is expected to participate and help in some capacity. This means that everyone will volunteer with kids. Cleveland's First Baptist Church policy is that anyone working with minors, in any capacity, must succesfully complete background check for the safety of children. Background checks are confidential and are only viewed by the CFBC Children's Director and The Vine Co-Directors.

  • How do you communicate with families?

We utilize WhatsApp and our Facebook group to send out messages including updates, schedule changes, weather cancellations, and more. Please see Lacey or Tatiana to be added to these.
